U.S. Senator David Perdue (R-GA) joined local business leaders from the Columbus Chamber of Commerce, the Harris County Chamber of Commerce, and United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley for a discussion on gradually reopening the economy, the federal response to COVID-19, and the available relief for small businesses.

“This is an unprecedented time, and we’ve taken extraordinary measures to protect the American people through the CARES Act and other relief packages,” said Senator David Perdue. “While we work to defeat this virus, we must continue to support our communities and find ways to safeguard our long-term economic security. I want to personally thank the Chambers and United Way for helping the Columbus area navigate this crisis and for sharing constructive feedback.”

“On behalf of the Columbus Chamber of Commerce, I would like to thank Senator Perdue for his time and insight on the COVID-19 related CARES and Paycheck Protection Program legislation and the ongoing guidance from Washington D.C.,” said Pace Halter, 2020 Chair and President, Columbus Chamber of Commerce. “It is important for our Chamber investors to continue to have the latest information and Senator Perdue’s support of the business community is greatly appreciated.”

“We greatly appreciated the Senator taking time today to give our community an update on COVID-19 legislation and answer questions,” said Ben Moser, President and CEO, United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley. “Senator Perdue and his team have been great about communicating with our organization and we appreciate his leadership during these difficult times.”
