Rome takes finale, series from Columbia with 8-5 win

The Rome Braves managed to pull out a series win on getaway day Wednesday, before heading home for a weekend stand with Augusta.

Rome managed eight runs on 13 hits Wednesday versus Columbia, six of which came in the top of the second inning alone.  The Fireflies chipped away at Rome’s lead with a run each in the third, fourth, and sixth inning, but pitching did enough to hold on for an 8-5 win.
