USTFCCCA announces All-Region honorees for Indoor season

With the NCAA DII Indoor National Championships two weeks away the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Coutnry Coaches Association announced in annual list of All-Region honorees, and for the second straight year Shorter’s women led the charge with 23 total performances honored. While, the Hawks saw 15 finishes recognized.

With the NCAA DII Indoor National Championships two weeks away the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Coutnry Coaches Association announced in annual list of All-Region honorees, and for the second straight year Shorter’s women led the charge with 23 total performances honored. While, the Hawks saw 15 finishes recognized.

The top five individuals in each event from each region earn the All-Region distinction, in addition to each of the members of the regions’ top three relay teams.

For the Lady Hawks, Ayana Walker saw recognition in four different events, posting top five times for the South Region in the 60, 200, 400, and as a member of the 4×400 relay team. Promise Clark earned honors for three performances – the 200, 400, and 4×400. While, Jasmine Crump (200, 4×400), Yamara Robinson(long jump, triple jump), and Leah Sikorski (mile, 3k) received recognition for two events.

Anelise Aldana (triple jump), Kemor Anderson (200), Emily Buwalda (800), Miyah Golden (400), Amber Littlejohn (4×400),Ansley Long (long jump), Portia McManis (60 hurdles), Heather Ortiz (pole vault), Madison Sears (weight throw), and Breondra Steele (high jump) each earned recognition as well.

For the Hawks, Alfred Chelanga and Wake Roberds led the way with three honors each. Chelanga in the 3k, 5k, and as part of the distance medley team; while Roberds received recognition for his finishes in the 800, and on both the 4×400 team and the distance medley.

Victor Kosgei (3k, distance medley), Lester Miller (60, 200) andGregory Roachford, Jr. (4×400, distance medley) each saw two top five finishes in the region. While, Barnet Bailey (60), Tamario Evans (60 hurdles), Devonte Fletcher (4×400), Corey Freeman (weight throw), Supan Randeniya (60 hurdles), Kelley Thompson (4×400) and Jonathan Willman (long jump) each received All-Region recognition for one event.
