[GALLERY] Newest Tattnall County Elected Officials Sworn In

Tuesday was a special day for newly elected officials in Tattnall County as they took their oaths of office before Tattnall County Probate Judge Gloria Dubberly and a crowded room of supporters in the auditorium of Tattnall County High School.


Judge Cheney re-administered the oath of office to Judge Gloria Dubberly ahead of the county-wide officers.

Newly-elected Sheriff Kyle Sapp took his oath of office before both Judge Dubberly and Superior Court Judge Glen Cheney, and was followed by:

  • Clerk of Courts Sherry Bland (incumbent)
  • Tax Commissioner Dale Dutton (incumbent)
  • Magistrate Judge James E. Anderson (incumbent)
  • Coroner Bobby J. Brannen (incumbent)

The County Commissioners were sworn in as a group with Chairman Jackie Trim and Commissioner Bobby C. Kennedy taking their oaths for the first time.

Commissioners Edward Kennedy, Georgia W. Thompson, Wayne Tatum, and Bubba Burkhalter were all re-sworn.

School Board members Marilyn Carter, Mary Ruth Ray, Donna K. Tootle and Chairman Richard Bland were all resworn as Ronnie Oliver and DuAnn C. Davis too their oaths for the very first time.

Reverend Charles Barnard and Reverend Marc Foster offered remarks and the benediction while Commander of the VFW Ronnie McCall led the Pledge of Allegiance.
