Clifton, council members sworn in Wednesday night

Wednesday night a new administration was sworn in for the City of Reidsville at the “old” City Hall on Tattnall Street, despite the fact that operations have already begun at the former Cheney Law Office.

In a jam-packed room of over fifty Reidsville citizens and supports, Mayor Sydney Clifton and Councilman Doug Williams were sworn in by Tattnall County Probate Judge Gloria Dubberly. Councilman Curtis Colwell was also sworn in for an additional term. All were surrounded by family and friends.

Notable members of the community in attendance included Tattnall County Magistrate Judge Eddie Anderson, Council members John Wingate and Virgil Duckworth, and outgoing Councilwoman Susan Fountain Thomas.

Noticeably absent was outgoing Mayor Eddie Rewis, and because of such, Sydney Clifton had to convene his own swearing in ceremony.

A reception followed the ceremony.
