Statement from State School Superintendent Richard Woods on Governor Brian Kemp’s FY25 budget proposal

Superintendent Woods’ released a statement on Governor Brian Kemp‘s FY25 state budget proposal:

“Governor Kemp’s FY25 budget proposal includes raises for Georgia’s hardworking teachers, $205 million for school transportation, and $104 million to ensure school safety. It also includes funding for a tiered, statewide literacy coaching model – which has the support of former Mississippi Superintendent Dr. Carey Wright, who led her state to the ‘Mississippi Miracle’ for early literacy. This is a pro-education budget and I am extremely grateful to the Governor for these proposed investments in Georgia’s 1.7 million K-12 students and their futures.”
