Aubrey Ruth Burke a 6th grader at Trion Middle School recently pitched a shutout 9-0 in the championship game in the USFA (United States Fastpitch Association) State of Georgia Tournament. Aubrey is a pitcher and utility player for Force Elite Champions 05 Red. The ‘Champions’ are a Christian based athletic organization based out of Dalton. The organizations has a softball, baseball, football, basketball, volleyball, soccer,and wrestling teams for ages 8-18 year olds. (The 05 in the team name denotes the team’s birth year.)
Aubrey and her team fought back from the losers bracket against Atlanta Premier of Dacula, GA, Challengers of Columbus,Ga, Glory of Loganville and Force Elite Champions 05 Black of Dalton.
The win secures the teams spot in the Softball World Series in Panama City in July.
Aubrey recently made the middle school squad as a 6th grader. She maintained a star roll status all year, with all grades being 90 or higher and had a 95 and over average for the year.
Aubrey is the daughter of Jeremy and Amanda Burke.
