Shorter’s Cook earns All-America Honorable Mention from D2CCA

Niki Cook earned her second All-America honor in as many seasons this week as the DII Conference Commissioners Association announced its annual list of recipients; where she earned an honorable mention.

Cook, a sophomore from Buford, Ga. finished the season as the Hawks leader in average and hits; hitting .435 with 74 hits on the season. While, also leading the team in on-base percentage – reaching base 49% of the time – and swiping a team high 33 bases and scoring 40 runs on the year.

The lead-off hitter also posted a .970 fielding percentage with 61 putouts and four assists, making just two errors on the year.

Last season, Cook earned 3rd Team All-American honors from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association; while also earned 1st Team All-Conference and Freshman of the Year accolades.
