The Chattooga Middle School Indians traveled to Coosa to face the Middle School Eagles in a region showdown as the Indians battle for a playoff berth. The game opened with defensive stands from both teams. With a lone drive resulting in points in the entire first half, the Indians squandered a few opportunities but still led 8-0 at the half.

The 3rd quarter was a completely different story as Jamarious Mosteller #12, and Quintavious Knox #4 took over the entire field and began to impose their will…

Knox powered through would-be tacklers for 2 touchdowns while the defense, led by Quinton Perry #18, and Baylor Wilson #22 completely shut down the Eagle ground game. Wilson and Perry seemed to be in the backfield on every Coosa snap. The pressure resulted in 2 pick-six interceptions, including one by Perry himself, who batted a pass and caught his own tip before taking it in for a score.

Combined with a perfect day from #25 Luis Medina who went 5 for 5 on PAT’s and gave the Indians 10 points on special teams as well as sealing up the defensive line to shut down the Eagles offense. The 32 points were the most scored by the Indians in a single quarter. The game was wrapped up in the 4th quarter as the Indian backups put together a scoring drive of their own on the legs of Jason Malone #29 and Baylor Wilson #22.
