Trion Football’s own, Toby Maddux, up for Georgia preseason football player of the week (Aug. 10-11).

Toby Maddux was nominated for the Georgia preseason football player of the week due to his amazing performance as running back Friday night. Maddux totaled 150 yards on 16 touches and scored two touchdowns in just two quarters of play in the scrimmage against the Adairsville Tigers.

His performance put him in an elite group of 13 candidates across the state who are also in the running.

“I feel like we all did a really good job Friday night. It felt great being back on the field with my brothers and our amazing coaches. I’m excited to see what this season holds for us,” Maddux said. “I’m very thankful for everyone to receive this nomination and for everyone who has voted for me. All glory goes to God.”
