The Chattooga Lady Indians softball team beat Pepperell 1-0 on Thursday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at zero in the top of the seventh when Emily Hughes lined out, scoring one run.
Kaymin Calaway started and finished the game for the Lady Indians. Calaway allowed five hits and zero runs over seven innings, while striking eight batters out.
Hughes, Calaway, and Ally Croy each collected one hit for Chattooga.
The Lady Indians are now 2-1 in region.
Head Coach Jeff Bennett said, “Very proud of my Lady Indians they played hard from the 1st inning until the last inning. They were determined to win the game and we did. Love my girls.”
The Lady Indians JV team also defeated Pepperell 7-1.
