How has your training and preparation been going during the off-season?

We’ve had a solid off-season by working harder in the weight room and on the field, also performing in many 7on7’s and many padded camps.

What improvements have you personally made in your skills since last season?

I have been working harder in the weight room, working on my coverage skills, my angles, and to read the play faster.

Which players are standing out as potential impact players for the upcoming season?

Zayden Cook will be an impact for our offense this year along with Quarry Gibson and Dan Myer. Bubba Bass is one of the best in the region at the MLB, expect a big year from him also.

How do you feel the team’s chemistry and camaraderie is shaping up this year?

The chemistry wasn’t good at the beginning, but I feel that we are working as a unit everyday to become the team I know we can be.

What are the team’s primary goals and objectives for this season?

Our primary goal this year is to have a winning season and make the playoffs.

How has the new coaching staff been working to develop and refine team strategies?

We’ve all grew a close connection with each of our coaches over the off-season. They have watched hours of film and have done tons of research about the players and have pushed us like no other.

What is the best thing about your teammates?

We all love each other like we’re brothers and push each other to be the best of our ability.

Which games are you most looking forward to this season, and why?

Trion, I think everyone is ready for that game. Coahulla Creek, because things didn’t go as planned last year. Darlington, because I feel like we could’ve beat them last year.

Are there any specific rivalries that add extra motivation for the team?

Trion, because it’s the second time we’ve played against each other in over 50 years and we are playing them at home my senior year.

How are you personally preparing for the leadership role on the team, and what do you hope to achieve this season?

My goal this year is to be an amazing teammate as well as friend on the field, in the halls, and in life. I strive to be a leader and to lay the foundation of a leader for the upcoming players. I am prepared for this position through learning from the boys I have played with that graduated before me and I hoped to be looked upon by these underclassmen as I looked up to the upperclassmen when I was in their shoes. This season, I am hopeful that we make the playoffs, but I also hope to show our community what Chattooga is made of. It’s always a great day to be a Chattooga Indian and it is my goal this season to prove that.
