Big things are happening in Chattooga High School’s CTAE Automotive program — and leading the way is Mr. Phillip Jackson, a dedicated instructor passionate about giving his students a real-world edge.
Mr. Jackson recently made a major impact by securing the donation of a brand-new KIA vehicle for his automotive pathway. This isn’t just a car — it’s a high-tech learning tool that provides hands-on experience with modern vehicle systems, including hybrid technology, advanced diagnostics, and safety features.
Already being used in class, the car bridges the gap between textbook lessons and industry-standard tools. Students are thrilled to work with current technology instead of outdated equipment, giving them a valuable head start whether they pursue technical school, college, or enter the workforce right after graduation.
CTAE Admin Assistant Anna Durham praised the program’s growth, saying:
“The CTAE program has always been about real-world learning, and thanks to instructors like Mr. Jackson, our students are more prepared than ever. Mr. Jackson brings opportunities to our students that truly change lives. With this kind of leadership and innovation, the future of our CTAE program is looking bright — and our students are in the driver’s seat.”
