Chattooga County Schools Superintendent Jared Hosmer has released an informational letter about the COVID-19 virus. “I will be placing the letter on the District website and will have each school post the letter to their individual site,” Hosmer said.
From the letter:
Dear Chattooga County Families,
We know there is a concern with the impact of the coronavirus on our school community. Our highest priority is the health and well-being of our students and staff.
As of March 3, 2020, two confirmed cases have been reported in Fulton County, Georgia. We will continue to monitor the situation and will take actions as necessary.
Chattooga County Schools continuously receives updates and guidance on signs and symptoms of the coronavirus. Our school system is closely working with the Chattooga County Health Department and school nurses, and will be monitoring information that is being released from the Center for Disease Control (CDC).
There are preventative measures you can take that are recommended by the medical community. These measures are the same as those for the flu.
Chattooga County Schools will update school websites, social media and local news stations if any information becomes available.
There is up-to-date information on the coronavirus on the Georgia Department of Public Health website https://dph.georgia.gov/ or the Center for Disease Control website https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html
Thank you for helping use keep our staff, students and community safe.
