A 19-year-old Summerville man has been arrested and charged with Child Molestation. Logan Jayden Pickern was arrested on June 27 following an investigation by the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office. According to reports Pickern was carrying on a sexual relationship with a 12-year-old female child.
He was placed under arrest by Investigator Daniel Sanford – following an investigation that concluded that Pickern was having sex with the child. According to Sheriff Mark Schrader, he was booked into the Chattooga County Jail and subsequently released on a $50,000 bond, according to reports.
According to the incident report provided by the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office: On May 5, Deputy Kinnamont was dispatched to the Chattooga County Jail to meet with a complainant regarding her 12-year-old daughter. The complainant stated they had received a phone call from earlier in the day and, in the phone call, said that her 12-year-old daughter had sexual intercourse with a 19-year-old named Logan Pickern.
Deputy Kinnamont asked the complainant if the 12-year-old girl had spoken to anyone regarding this incident, and she said that she talked to her sister on the phone about it and that they recorded the conversation.
Deputy Kinnamont asked to hear the recording, and in it, the 12-year-old stated that she had sexual intercourse with a “boy named Logan.” She continued the conversation and said that she told Logan she was 14 and that Logan was 19. Deputy Kinnamont then notified Investigator Sanford of the complaint, and DFCS for a to get a case worker involved.
