Recovery Alive to Celebrate 1-Year Anniversary on November 7th

Born and raised in Duluth, Minnesota, John surrendered his heart to Jesus in his early twenties after being delivered from alcohol abuse and suicidal ideation. Recovery has personally played an important role in his life, and has grown to define the majority of the work God has called him to do. Though John has been working in full-time ministry since 2003, he started his career over 20 years ago as a social worker for the state of Delaware. John is an ordained minister and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Evangel University in Springfield, MO, and graduated with a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Delaware State University. John began serving in full-time ministry in West Virginia helping churches start and grow recovery ministries. He also served as the Eastern U.S. National Director for Celebrate Recovery. He moved to NC becoming the Recovery Pastor at Temple City Church in 2015. In 2020 John founded Recovery ALIVE!, a Christ-centered 12 step program that helps people suffering from any spiritual, mental or emotional struggle. John continues to help people find hope and healing at the local ministry level while growing Recovery ALIVE! into a national ministry that reaches churches and individuals from coast to coast. John has been married 23 years to his beautiful wife Jennene, and he has four daughters, Daisy, Lily, Violet and Rose
