
The investigation into an incident involving Chattooga County’s Sole Commissioner, Andy Allen, has been referred to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) according to a press release from Chattooga County Sheriff Mark Schrader.
The incident in question occurred on March 3, 2025, involving an alleged physical altercation between Commissioner Allen and William Wilson of Kentucky. Deputies were dispatched to Little Sand Mountain Road in response to a domestic dispute, during which Wilson claimed that Commissioner Allen attempted to forcibly remove him from his vehicle. A witness corroborated this account, and a portion of the incident was reportedly recorded.
Sheriff Schrader requested an independent investigation by the Walker County Sheriff’s Office to ensure transparency.

The investigation was turned over from the Walker County Sheriff’s Office to the GBI at the request of DA Fuller.
The GBI’s involvement aims to objectively examine the events surrounding the altercation.
