Chattooga Football Honors Senior Class on Senior Night; Coach Gable Reflects on Group’s Impact

Tonight is Senior Night for Chattooga High School football, a chance to recognize the seniors who have helped shape the Indians program through their hard work, dedication and leadership.

AllOnGeorgia reached out to Chattooga head coach Roone Gable to share his thoughts on this year’s senior class, a group that holds a special place in his coaching career.

“Every senior class is special, but this group holds a special place in my heart because they have been with me since day one. They were freshmen during my first year at Chattooga, and I’ve had the privilege of watching each of them grow both on and off the field.”

Gable said he is proud of the way the seniors have dedicated themselves to becoming better leaders and teammates, adding that they have done a good job leading the team not only this season but also when they were underclassmen.

The group has also faced its share of adversity, with injuries cutting short the seasons of several players.

“Sadly, this group has been hit hard with injuries, and many of them will not get to finish the season the way they had dreamed of for their senior year, but that doesn’t make me appreciate them any less,” Gable said. “I love these young men, and I am very proud of each and every one of them.”

The senior class includes 11 players who have contributed to the program in different ways.

Gable shared his thoughts on each senior.

Aiden Fletcher #2 — RB/LB

“Aiden was the leading rusher in the region last year, but saw this season cut short due to a spinal injury in Game 3. Aiden has been a three-year starter for us.”

Titus Hatcher #3 — WR/DB

“Titus has been a two-year starter at WR for us. He is a hard worker and a very unselfish player. Unfortunately, his season has been cut short due to a broken leg in Game 2.”

Jose “Junior” Castro #11 — K

“Junior has been phenomenal for us as our kicker. He has not missed a PAT for us in three years and has a career-long field goal of 40 yards. One of the best kickers I have ever had the opportunity to coach.”

Andrew Farmer #14 — WR/DB

“Andrew joined the team this year and is a very hard worker and looks to finish his senior year strong for us.”

Farmer was not pictured.

Colton McCary #17 — WR/DB

“Colton is a two-year starter for us at WR and cornerback. Colton is one of our leading receivers on offense and plays just about every snap in every game for us. Colton is a leader for us and a very hard worker.”

Blayne Ward #18 — WR/DB

“Blayne joined the team this year. I wish Blayne had played for us all four years because he is a very tall, athletic receiver for us with great hands. We are looking for Blayne to have a strong finish to his senior season.”

Landon Reed #51 — OL/LB

“Landon has been with us all four years and has helped the team at various positions. He is one of the hardest workers on the team. Landon is a team-first guy who is willing to do whatever his coaches ask of him.”

Mack Dotson #55 — OL/DE

“Mack has been a two-year starter for us and a leader on our OL and DL. He is one of the hardest workers on the team, and Mack truly gives it all he’s got every day for our team.”

Logan Lewis #70 — OL/DL

“Logan has been a two-year starter for us on the OL. Logan is one of the strongest guys on the team and also one of the hardest workers.”

Rylan Ledford #72 — OL/DL

“Rylan has been a three-year starter for us on the OL. He has played all three positions on the OL and is one of the most versatile players I have ever coached. Rylan also plays DL for us and has been one of our key members of that group over the past two years.”

Gabe Smith #76 — OL/DL

“Gabe has been a two-year starter for us at guard and plays in our DL rotation on defense. Unfortunately, Gabe’s season was cut short after five games due to a knee injury. Gabe is one of the hardest-working guys on the team in the weight room, classroom and on the football field.”

As the Indians recognize their seniors tonight, Gable’s message reflects the lasting impact this group has made on the program. Despite injuries and challenges, these players have continued to contribute as teammates and leaders, earning the appreciation of a coach who has watched them grow since their freshman year.
