The City of Summerville held a special called meeting on Monday September 19th. The meeting covered the appointment of Tracy Maddux as the Assistant Municipal Court Judge. The City attorney was authorized to draft a contract for the Municipal Court Judge and Assistant Municipal Court Judge.
The Council then moved into executive session, where they finalized their decision on the new city manager. The meeting reconvened and the Council voted 3-2 to hire Tony Carroll who had been serving as interim city manager pending the completion of the contract. Councilman David Ford and Buddy Windle voted against Carroll, but are ready to move the city forward with the decision.
The City Manager is responsible for directing the daily operations of all City departments. He works closely with the Mayor and Council to ensure that the vision and mission of our elected officials is realized.
