Tax Bills are arriving

Tax Commissioner Joy Hampton issued the following information regarding tax bills:

“I’m sure you’ve all noticed that the tax bills are arriving in mail boxes this week! I wanted to let you all know that I’m planning to do the same as last year, with a little extra: Since the due date is December 1st and it falls on a Saturday, I will be collecting taxes on the sidewalk on the Friday before. Taxes received on Monday the 3rd will not accrue interest and penalties. Also this year, since a lot of folks like to pay when they receive their bills, I’ll be outside THIS Friday, September 14th to take payments curb-side from anyone who finds it difficult to walk inside. Just pull up and wave, and I will come out to meet you! I truly am honored to be able to help our citizens whenever I can.”
