Bailee’s journey began at Berry College, where she earned her Bachelor of Animal Science degree. Later, she pursued a Master’s degree in Middle-Grade Science and Agricultural Education, honing her skills and knowledge in both academic and practical fields. For the past eight years, Bailee has been a teacher of science and middle-grade agriculture in the public school system.

Residing in the Gore Community of Chattooga County with her two children, Oaklyn and Colt, Bailee understands the importance of a holistic education beyond traditional classroom boundaries. With her children as inspiration, she founded Back to the Basics Academy, where children can immerse themselves in hands-on learning experiences while building essential life skills.

Back to the Basics Academy offers a unique alternative to traditional schooling, where academic learning is seamlessly blended with practical life skills. Through a curriculum focused on activities such as cooking, money management, gardening, animal care, and teamwork, children gain valuable knowledge that extends far beyond textbooks.

One of the key features of Back to the Basics Academy is its four-day-a-week program, providing ample time for children to engage deeply with their surroundings and learning experiences. By emphasizing the principle of ‘learning by doing,’ Bailee ensures that every child has the opportunity to explore, experiment, and grow in a nurturing and supportive environment.

Back to the Basics Academy offers a compelling solution for parents who have considered homeschooling but faced obstacles. By joining the academy, children can benefit from diverse educational experiences while enjoying the freedom and flexibility of a farm-based learning environment.

To learn more about Back to the Basics Academy and how it can transform your child’s educational journey, Bailee invites you to attend an interest meeting on Thursday, May 16th, at 7 p.m. The meeting will take place at 237 Gore Subligna Rd in Summerville.
