Ogeechee Technical College’s Phi Beta Lambda recently partnered with the American Red Cross of Southeast and Coastal Georgia to hold a blood drive at the college, as part of OTC’s community service initiative, Ogeechee on the Go. With Ogeechee on the Go, OTC students and employees participate in projects designed to support worthwhile causes within the community.
The Red Cross collected 22 units of blood at the drive while the mobile unit was parked outside of the Health Science North building for the day.
OTC: “We were really excited about the turnout for last week’s event,” said Beckie Snyder, Administrative Assistant for AVPSA. “With new protocols in place we set a goal of 17 units, but easily surpassed that, matching last event’s total of 22 units.”
Those who volunteered with the blood drive included Angela Alston, Virginia Cone, Michele Morrison, Taretta Adams, Brenna Moore, and Advisor, Michael Twisdale.
