Bulloch County Schools’ annual Employee Recruitment Fair is Saturday, March 21, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, in the Statesboro High School cafeteria, located at 10 Lester Road, in Statesboro, Georgia. The event is not just for educators. Anyone is encouraged to attend who wants to serve children in Bulloch County’s K-12 public schools through many other support roles.
Special Invitation to Bus Driver Applicants
For those interested in bus driver positions, you are invited to attend a special information session at 10 a.m., in the Statesboro High School Media Center where you will meet the Transportation director, complete an application, and learn how you can be paid while you train and qualify for signing bonuses of $500 and $750. Interested applicants must be willing to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), satisfy a criminal background check, and pass a physical drug test. While any interested persons are encouraged to attend and apply, the flexible hours, pay, and benefits for bus drivers makes this an excellent opportunity for a stay-at-home parent, home-based business owners, small business owners, retirees, or those seeking a bi-vocational opportunity.
What you need to know about Bulloch County Schools
Bulloch County Schools is the county’s second-largest employer with more than 2,200 full-time, part-time, contracted services, seasonal, and substitute employees. It serves nearly 11,000 students through its 15 schools, alternative learning centers, and four office complexes. We employ approximately 750 certified teachers and administrators and nearly 1500 support professionals and skilled laborers.
What is the purpose of the Employee Recruitment Fair?
Bulloch County Schools posts and hires teaching and non-teaching positions year-round, but its main hiring season is February – August in preparation for each new school year. The school district will post and hire for more than 50 positions during this peak hiring season. The Employee Recruitment Fair helps all of the school district’s hiring supervisors, which includes all principals and all district office administrators, to gather and meet face-to-face with a diverse pool of potential applicants from which to hire. Each will host individual exhibit spaces to help applicants learn about specific schools or areas of support service and provide them an opportunity to have meaningful conversations with the key personnel who make the hiring decisions.
Bulloch County Schools encourages interested applicants for all job types to attend: administrators, teachers, special education teachers and support professionals, counselors, registered nurses, clerical workers, school food services workers, bus drivers, bus monitors, custodians, and paraprofessionals. Applicants who are interested in being a substitute for any of these type positions are also encouraged to attend.
- Bring a resume if you have one or visit the event’s resume resource table for tips about how to create one.
- Learn how to create an online profile on Bulloch County Schools’ online jobs website, Applitrack, so you can be considered for any current or upcoming job postings. This ensures you are immediately included in the pool of applicants to be reviewed and possibly interviewed when a job is posted.
- Get noticed! Because some job postings receive a large number of applicants, attending the Employee Recruitment Fair helps you stand out and helps hiring supervisors remember their contact with you.
- Participants interested in bus driver, bus monitor, and school food services positions can complete paper applications on-site.
Are you currently in another career, but want to be a teacher?
People who have a four-year degree in an area other than education, and who are interested in becoming a certified teacher are also encouraged to attend. The school district will have a staffed information booth with representatives and information about state certification program options.
