Bulloch County Board of Education Regular Session is April 15

The Bulloch County Board of Education will host its scheduled regular session April 15, at 6:30 p.m., in the cafetorium of the school district’s Central Office, 150 Williams Road, Statesboro.

Guests should enter the entrance marked E under the portico on the southeast side of the building. The meeting space is open to the public. All guests are asked to maintain a social distance in the interest of public health.
Regular session meetings include a time on the agenda for public participation. Persons who wish to address comments to the Board, should arrive prior to 6:30 p.m., to sign up for a time to speak. Each speaker will have three minutes to speak.
The community can send public comments to the Board of Education at any time, not just during regular session meetings. This can be done either to Board members’ individual email addresses, to the Board’s group email, or to the Board’s attention via Superintendent of Schools Charles Wilson at 912.212.8500 or to the superintendent’s email.
During public participation, no speaker shall indulge in personal attacks while speaking.  All comments are to be addressed directly to the Board of Education.  Personnel concerns may be addressed in writing to the Superintendent or Chairman of the Board of Education.  The Board cannot vote, comment or respond to issues or comments made during public participation.
Key topics for the Board meeting include the following: (1) an update on the Virtual Learning program; (2) an update about summer learning opportunities; (3) an update on the school district’s strategy to address learning gaps; (4) an overview of the proposed Fiscal Year 2022 Budget; (5) an update about the Grade 4 and 5 School Research; and (6) a proposal to purchase new school buses.
