SPD Investigating Shooting Incident at Shuga Shack, Seeking Witnesses for Statements

The Statesboro Police Department is still investigating a shooting incident at an after prom party that occurred this past weekend at the Shuga Shack Event Hall on East Vine Street. After reviewing videos from attendees at the event, detectives say there are multiple people who are able to provide first hand testimony of the incident and the identity of the shooter. Anyone that was in attendance is asked to contact the lead investigator, Senior Detective Katie Reese, at 912-764-9911 to provide a statement.

Statesboro Police continue to investigate the shooting incident at the Shuga Shack from the weekend. While detectives have received third party leads, these leads are not evidence admissible in court. Videos provided by private persons of the event indicate that there were multiple people able to provide first hand testimony as to what occurred and who the shooter may be. Detectives ask that anyone in attendance contact the lead investigator, Senior Detective Katie Reese, to provide a statement. This case is absolutely solvable, but it will take the participation of the witnesses to make it happen.
