SPD Investigating Death of Statesboro Man

The Statesboro Police Department is investigating the October 26 death of a 20 year-old Statesboro man named Matthew Vincent Verrico.

On Wednesday night, officers and Bulloch County EMS responded to a call in reference to a suicide at Aspen Heights Apartments on Highway 67. Verrico was located with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, and was pronounced deceased on the scene.

Detective Kevin Wadley with the Criminal Investigations Bureau responded to the scene and began investigating. The case is still under investigation and no further information is being released at this time.
