Bulloch Co Sheriff’s Office Searching for Burglary/Armed Robbery Suspects in Register

UPDATE from BCSO 08/18/2026: At this time, **two offenders are in custody** following this morning’s incident near Register. The incident originated in the **City of Statesboro as a carjacking and kidnapping**.

The victim was restrained and placed in the backseat of his own vehicle while two suspects drove him toward Register. At least one additional suspect was traveling in a second vehicle, which had been reported stolen from the Atlanta area.

The suspects traveled to **Holloway Lane**, where they approached a residence in what appeared to be an attempt to commit a home invasion. The residents retreated to another room in the home and called 911.

Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office deputies responding to the 911 call encountered both vehicles and attempted to stop them. Both vehicles fled from deputies.

The first vehicle crashed in the **City of Register**. Corporal Tanner White attempted to take the driver into custody, and the driver physically fought him. Corporal White, with assistance from other deputies, took the driver into custody. During the incident, a passenger crawled from the wrecked vehicle and fled on foot.

Deputies located the kidnapping victim restrained in the backseat of the crashed vehicle. Deputies subsequently identified the driver as **Joshua Parrish**.

The second vehicle continued to flee from deputies before coming to a final rest near **Wolf Pen Lane**. At least one suspect fled from that vehicle on foot. Multiple deputies responded to both locations and began searching for the remaining suspects. The Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the **Georgia State Patrol, Georgia Department of Natural Resources, and Statesboro Police Department**.

Shortly before noon, a local homeowner encountered a second suspect near the area where the second vehicle had been located. The homeowner was aware of the ongoing incident through public safety alerts issued by law enforcement and information shared by local media. The homeowner was able to detain the individual until law enforcement arrived. That suspect was identified as **Michael McCullum**.

Both Parrish and McCullum will face multiple charges related to the kidnapping, carjacking, and subsequent incidents. The **Statesboro Police Department and Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office are jointly investigating this case**.

Sheriff Noel Brown stated that the victim in this case was fortunate that deputies were able to locate and stop the vehicle in which he was being held. Sheriff Brown also expressed his appreciation to the Georgia State Patrol, Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Statesboro Police Department, and all personnel who responded and assisted throughout the incident.

**This remains an active investigation, and a third suspect is still being sought.**

ORIGINAL: Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office deputies are searching for several suspects in Register that were involved in a burglary/armed robbery that occurred overnight.

From BCSO: On August 18th, at around 03:00 a.m. the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office received a call for a prowler or possible burglary attempt in the area of Holloway Lane (Register Ga.). While responding to the call deputies encountered two vehicles. The driver of the first vehicle appeared to be wearing some sort of mask. Deputies attempted to stop both vehicles, and both vehicles refused to stop. One of the vehicles crashed inside the city limits of Register. The driver of this vehicle was arrested after a brief struggle with the pursuing deputy. One passenger fled on foot in Register. A second passenger appears to have been the victim of a carjacking and was being held against his will.

The second vehicle continued to elude law enforcement and continued on down Cypress Lake Road. The second fleeing vehicle then crashed in the area of Wolf Pen Lane. An unknown number of subjects fled on foot from this vehicle. Deputies continue to search both areas utilizing drones and canines. We are also being assisted by G.S.P. Aviation. Please use caution as all subjects may possibly be armed. We will give updates as information becomes available.
