Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a burglary call at Backwoods Armory this morning. The owner of the business said that an unknown suspect had forced entry to a window and removed various firearms overnight.
An inventory check revealed that 55 handguns and long guns worth $25,000 had been stolen. Video surveillance showed a black male suspect committing the theft.
BCSO says the theft of so many firearms is a clear danger to public safety in this area. Investigators are working with agents of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to solve this crime and need the public’s help in doing so.
