PEP stands for “Patient Experience Physician” and EGRMC said Friday that the first recipient of this wonderful honor goes to Dr. Mark McCracken, lead hospitalist at East Georgia Regional Medical Center.

The winner of the PEP Award is chosen quarterly and is given to a physician with the highest patient satisfaction/experience scores and/or comments from patient surveys and positive reviews.

EGRMC said in the release, “We congratulate Dr. McCracken for winning the first ever EGRMC PEP Award, and thank him for his tireless efforts in providing safe, compassionate care to his patients!”

Similarly, Bryan Realiza, Stroke and Chest Pain Program Coordinator, has been awarded the accolade of Employee of the Month at East Georgia Regional Medical Center. Bryan has been employed at EGRMC since 2016.

Here is an excerpt from his nomination form:

“Bryan exemplifies a positive attitude at work every day. He never turns a job down, and is always a ‘Yes, how can I help you?’ type person. His dedication to his role is unwavering. Bryan has never met a stranger and has established contacts with all areas of healthcare, from EMS, Rehab facilities, American Heart Association, American Stroke Association, Department of Public Health, to transfer facilities and more. Bryan is very approachable and working with him on hospital accreditations has been enjoyable. He is not afraid of a difficult task or change, and is leading East Georgia Regional Medical Center even more in a positive direction.”

Dr. mcCracken is the best dr. I have had the experience to know. My husband was his patient there last june and July. If he could be cloned, what a wonderful staff you would have and what great care the receivers would get. The care, compassion, knowledge and follow thru is wonderful. first responders were called in to my husband’s room, moved to ICU. Dr McCracken with his calm voice, experience, and care were so comforting to me during a very critical time. Thank you Dr. McCracken for your seemingly tireless efforts.
