Bulloch’s “Boys & Girls Club” recipient of Georgia Power Foundation funds

The Boys & Girls Club of Bulloch County was recently a recipient of funds from the Georgia Power Foundation.

The Georgia Power Foundation, Inc. recently celebrated 30 years of supporting communities across the state as Georgia Power’s nonprofit, 501(c)3 corporate giving foundation.

In honoring milestones, the Foundation donated an additional $30,000 in funds for organizations around the state.

  • Boys & Girls Club of Bulloch County (Statesboro)
  • Cobb County Safety Village Foundation (Marietta)
  • Communities in Schools of RomeFloyd County, Inc. (Rome)
  • Dream Builders of America’s Youth, Inc. (Augusta)
  • Macon Volunteer Clinic, Inc. (Macon)

The Georgia Power Foundation’s support of health and human services, education, environment, arts and culture, and civic and community organizations range from those with a national reach and local presence, such as the American Red Cross, to organizations focused only on Georgia communities, such as Grady Hospital in Atlanta.

“Our longtime partnership with Georgia Power means so much to the Red Cross and the people we serve,” said Terri Badour, CEO, American Red Cross of Georgia said in a press release. “Together, we help families prepare for and recover from all types of disasters in our state and the ongoing support makes a meaningful difference for neighbors in need.”

Since its inception, the Georgia Power Foundation has contributed more than $170 million to over 2,000 nonprofit organizations in Georgia.
