Bulloch VOAD and Bulloch Strong are actively monitoring response and recovery efforts in Brantley County and Clinch County following the recent wildfires impacting communities across South Georgia.
Bulloch VOAD, in partnership with the South Georgia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church, deployed showering and sheltering trailers to support affected areas on April 21, 2026. These mobile resources are available to provide temporary sheltering support and basic care services as response efforts continue to evolve.
At this time, local emergency management teams and partner agencies report that there are no immediate unmet asset needs. Bulloch VOAD and Bulloch Strong are continuing to monitor conditions daily and remain in close coordination with county officials and disaster response partners.
Those who wish to support wildfire victims are encouraged to give through trusted organizations. Monetary donations are the most effective way to help at this stage of response. Contributions to the American Red Cross and the Salvation Army allow these organizations to respond quickly and meet the most urgent and changing needs on the ground. Information regarding donations can be made at gema.georgia.gov/april-2026-
“Our role is to stand ready and respond where there is need,” said Ryan Heins, Executive Director of Bulloch Strong. “We are grateful for the strong collaboration already underway and for the resilience of the communities in Brantley and Clinch Counties. Recovery doesn’t end when the headlines fade; we stand committed for the long haul.”
Bulloch VOAD and Bulloch Strong emphasize that disaster recovery is a long-term process, and additional opportunities to serve, give, and support affected communities will be shared as needs emerge.
