Statesboro Councilman Britt Won’t Seek Re-Election

After serving twelve years in various capacities – councilman and mayor pro tem – Statesboro city councilman Will Britt will not be seeking re-election. He joins councilman Gary Lewis in stepping down.

Britt cited his family and his business for his decision not to run again.

His rise into office originated from his own experience with the city administration where he felt he was being targeted. Since elected, Britt has focused heavily on issues with Georgia Southern and Ogeechee Tech students.

Qualifying opens today for municipal races in Statesboro opens today and runs through Friday, September 4. The election is November 3.
