Mrs. Josie Lee Herrin Adams – Statesboro, GA
Mrs. Josie Lee Herrin Adams, age 77, died on Sunday September 20, 2020 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center. The Pooler, GA native was a graduate of Groves High School. Mrs. Josie lived in Franklin, VA, Pottersville, NJ, before moving to Bulloch County in 1983. She was a homemaker and a Counselor for Pineland Mental Health. She was a proud member of the Salzburgers Society. Mrs. Josie was an avid traveler who always loved new experiences in life. She was preceded in death by her parents Lewis and Celestia D. Herrin; two sons Timothy Edward Adams and Frederick “Dean” Adams, Jr.
Surviving is her son Vincel (Janet) Adams of Statesboro; a daughter Janna Adams (Craig Hendrix) of Garfield, GA; three grandchildren Zackary Adams, Chris Hendrix and Geneva Hendrix; several nieces and nephews also survive.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home.
The memorial service will be held on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home with Pastor Thomas Hendrix officiating.

Jerry Irwin Cooper Jr. – Statesboro, GA
Mr. Jerry Irwin Cooper Jr., 29, passed peacefully at his residence on Saturday, September 20, 2020. He was a Bulloch County native. He received his GED in 2013 and is a graduate of Ogeechee Technical College with a degree in culinary arts. He was employed with Statesboro Head Start and Tiny Treasures Learning Center as a Teacher Assistant.
He was preceded in death by his mother Ms. Connie Curtis Cooper. He is survived by his father Mr. Jerry (Rena) Cooper Sr., of Statesboro, Ga.; sisters Ms. Whitley Curtis, Trina Cooper, and April Cooper all of Statesboro, Ga.; brothers Mr. Roderick Curtis, Mr. Anthony Curtis, and Mr. Damoniquez J. Tippins all of Statesboro, Ga., and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.

Mr. Bobby Martin – Statesboro, GA
Mr. Bobby Martin, passed into rest Monday, September 21, 2020 at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center.
Final arrangements have been entrusted to Hill’s Mortuary, Inc.
Mr. Christopher Marvin Slayton – Portal, GA
Mr. Christopher Marvin Slayton, age 61, died on Monday, September 21st 2020 at his home under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. Christopher was born on January 1st 1959 in Augusta, GA to Mr. Edward Wayne Slayton and Mrs. Joan Elizabeth Gray Slayton. He grew up in North Augusta and attended high school there. He lived in Savannah, GA for many years where he raised his family and worked as a security officer for ADT. He enjoyed time on Tybee Island and singing gospel with “Glory Bound” all around the southeast. Christopher was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents, Medrew and Marvin Slayton, and Nanny Gray, and his brother, Edward Wayne Slayton Jr.
He is survived by his two daughters, Patricia Bailey (Chris) of Portal, GA and Rebecca Creel of Statesboro, GA, eight grandchildren, his aunt, Bonnie Pattison, his uncle, Drew Slayton, as well as several cousins.
A graveside service and burial will be held on Friday the 25th at 11:00am at Upper Black Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery on Mud Rd.

Mary White – Statesboro, GA
Mrs. Mary White, age 67 passed away on Monday night, September 21, 2020 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center. She was a native of Bulloch County and a former employee of Vandy’s Barbecue Restaurant.
She is survived by her husband, John White, Brooklet, GA; one daughter, Olissa White, Statesboro, GA; two sons,, Sajay White and Perneal White (Cora) both of Statesboro, GA; six sisters, Martha Smith, Kattie Mae Lewis (Terry), Queen Hodges (Gil) and Josephine Rock (James) all of Statesboro, Linda McClain (Robert), Columbia, SC and Idella Boone, Rocky Mountain, NC; three brothers, Frank Herrington (Frances) and John Herrington both of Statesboro and Kennell Herrington, ( Sandra), Atlanta, GA, eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a host of aunts uncles, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
