The Georgia Southern University Shooting Sports Education Center is hosting a Firearms Day Camp and a Winter Archery Day Camp June 6 – 10. The deadline to register for both camps is Wednesday, June 1. Spots are limited.
The Firearms Camp is for ages 10 and older and will be 1:00 – 4:30 pm each day. The registration fee is $175. “Firearms Day camp is the perfect camp for any child interested in learning more about the shooting sports! This day camp will provide your children with safe, qualified instruction on shotguns, rifles, and pistols. Our instructors will teach students how to shoot an array of firearms safely and accurately through classroom instruction and on range training. Your child will end the week having learned how to shoot an array of disciplines and firearms in a safe, comfortable, fun environment. The student to instructor ratio during live fire will be 2:1.” A snack will be provided each session.
The Archery Camp is for ages 7 and older and will be 8:30 am – 12:00 pm each day. The registration fee is $125. “The Archery Day Camp is designed for beginner archers to learn the basics of form, shooting, and the rules on the archery range. Archers will have the opportunity to try compound or recurve bows, and all equipment will be provided. Archers will play archery games, compete with others in the class, and participate in team bonding activities. This day camp will also include an opportunity to swim or climb on the climbing wall at the Recreation Activity Center.” A snack will be provided each session.
