At the May 11 regular session, the Bulloch County Board of Education will further discuss its Fiscal Year 2024 Budget. The board is expected to vote on the budget on June 8.
Superintendent of Schools Charles Wilson is expected to ask for tentative approval of the budget at the May 11 meeting in preparation for a vote on the final budget on June 8. The proposed budget, totalling $176.1 million, is comprised of five main areas (general fund, school nutrition, special revenue, capital projects, and debt service) and will take effect July 1.
The Board began its review of the proposed new budget on April 27, when Troy Brown, the school district’s assistant superintendent of business and finance, made a detailed presentation during a work session. The public can review the budget presentation here on the school district’s website in the April meeting documents, and hear discussions either during the public meetings or in the archived videos of Board meetings .
