A teacher is in the hospital and a student is in custody after a stabbing at a Georgia Middle School.
Trickum Middle School in Gwinnett County became a crime scene Monday afternoon when a female teacher was stabbed. The school was placed on lockdown and the teacher was rushed to the hospital.
The Gwinnett Daily Post reports that Principal Ryan Queen “said in a letter to parents that the attack happened during class in a language arts classroom. The student, a male eighth-grader, was “immediately apprehended.”
No students were harmed in the incident and media outlets report that the teacher was both conscious and talking when she was taken to the hospital.
No other information is available at this time as it is still under investigation.
