Welders Lend a Helping Torch

When the Chattooga CERT and Sheriff’s Office found themselves in need of of a boat trailer that could transport a few kayaks and a canoe, and they knew just who to turn to…Chattooga High School’s State Championship Welding team.

John Sterner, CERT Director, contacted Instructor Jeff Owings and the welders took it from there.

The new trailer will be a huge asset to the Sheriff’s Office, making the transportation and accessibility to the boats easier when needed for water rescues.

CERT members and representatives of the Sheriff’s Office were on hand to thank the welders personally with a cake and refreshments.
