Chattooga County Dairy Show Team Racks Up Ribbons

Chattooga County Dairy Show Team members spent Saturday racking up ribbons  at the Snow Flurries Classic Commercial Dairy Heifer show in White County. CHS senior Chelsea Price placed 5th in showmanship and 6th in weight class. Also placing were 11th grader Ashley Dooley and 9th grader Jorja Cooper. Dooley placed 2nd in weight class with two separate heifers. Cooper earned a 1st place finish in showmanship and placed 6th in weight. At the middle school level Menlo 8th grader Addison Bridges placed 2nd in showmanship and 5th in weight. Lyerly 7th grader Mary Anna Bentley earned a 4th place spot in showmanship and 3rd in weight class. Lyerly 5th grader Emma Rae Ward placed 2nd in her showmanship class and won a 1st place finish in weight class.

The Dairy Team is led by Summerville Middle School FFA adviser Lauren Jarrett. The team will travel to Athens this upcoming weekend to compete at The University of Georgia. They will travel to Putnam County onFebruary 13th. The team will host a local show at the Chattooga County Ag Building on Monday, February 15th at 6pm. The show will be free to attend and the public is invited and encouraged to attend. The team will wrap up their season at the Georgia National Fairgrounds in Perry on February 19th and 20th.
