5 Juveniles Arrested for Damage to Bulloch County Church

The Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest in a Burglary and Criminal Damage to Property case.

Deputies responded to an incident at Eldora Baptist Mission Church on Eldora Cemetery Road in Ellabell on Monday, February 19, 2018. According to a press release issued Tuesday, investigators were told by the church Pastor and other members upon arrival at the church that the damage was discovered Monday morning.

Law enforcement officials say church services were held Sunday, and therefore sometime after the 1:00 hour when all members left the property for the day, “persons unknown at the time came to the church and caused significant damages.”

Bulloch County investigators found doors forcefully kicked open, windows broken, and evidence of fire extinguishers being sprayed inside the building. There was also evidence that a fire was set which could have resulted in the total destruction and loss of the church
building. Other damage was done to the church lawn mower by pouring oil into
the gas tank.

Information was distributed in the Eldora area of Bulloch County which led to a call received by Investigator Pre Cone. Based on the information received by Investigator Cone, 5 juveniles were identified as the persons responsible for the criminal acts at the church.

The juveniles ages range from 12-15 years of age.

The juveniles have been arrested and charged with Burglary, Criminal attempt to commit Arson, Vandalism to a place of worship, and Criminal Damage to Property. The arrest information has been submitted to the Juvenile Services of Bulloch County and is currently pending further court proceedings.
