Bulloch Co Deputies Arrest 4 for Home Invasion

Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office deputies have arrested 4 suspects for a home invasion that occurred on Bunce Lane in Statesboro.

On December 14 at approximately 12:44 pm, BCSO deputies responded to a residence on Bunce Lane. The victim stated that a black male had approached him on his back porch and pointed a firearm at him. The victim went back inside his house, locked himself and his wife in a bedroom, and called 911.

A witness stated that a black male matching the description of the suspect was walking down Hwy 67. Deputies made contact with the male, 22 year-old Rufus Lee of Statesboro, and found him to be in possession of a firearm. The victim then identified Lee as the man who had attempted to rob him.

Soon after, deputies stopped a car that had been reported on Bunce Lane. The three individuals in the car, 21 year-old Shanikwa Buie of Statesboro, 19 year-old Adrien Jacobs of Sylvania, and 23 year-old Jarius Ware of Statesboro, had approached the victim’s residence with Lee. According to BCSO, all 4 had intended on committing the home invasion together.

The suspects remain at the Bulloch County Jail, awaiting further judicial hearings, and have been charged as follows:
-Rufus Lee- Armed Robbery, Home Invasion 1st Degree, Aggravated Assault, Criminal Attempt to Commit Burglary, Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Crime
-Shanikwa Buie- Armed Robbery, Home Invasion 1st Degree, Criminal Attempt to Commit Burglary
-Adrien Jacobs- Armed Robbery, Home Invasion 1st Degree, Criminal Attempt to Commit Burglary, Criminal Trespass
-Jarius Ware- Armed Robbery, Home Invasion 1st Degree, Criminal Attempt to Commit Burglary
