Arrest Made in Thursday’s Aggravated Assault at Campus Crossing

An arrest has been made in the aggravated assault that occurred Thursday afternoon at Campus Crossing Apartments.

At approximately 3:42 pm Thursday afternoon, SPD officers responded to a call in reference to shots fired at Campus Crossing. Officers secured the scene and began an investigation. According to SPD, there are three confirmed victims who suffered gunshot wounds.

A witness observed a male suspect running from the scene with a pistol, and was able to follow the suspect. The witness waved down State Trooper Tyler Rickman, who was responding to the scene. After a foot chase, 24 year-old Jarvis Jamal Scroggins of Douglasville, Georgia was taken into custody by Trooper Rickman. Scroggins has been charged with 5 ct Aggravated Assault, 1 ct Burglary, 5 ct Armed Robbery, and 1 ct Criminal Trespass.

No further information is being released at this time. The case is still under investigation.
