After receiving information from Georgia State Patrol, Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office located and arrested a man in Bulloch County Tuesday for a kidnapping that occurred in North Carolina. The two juvenile victims, ages 11 and 15 years old, were safely recovered and reunited with family. The man, Seth Tallmadge, 21 years old, was arrested on a kidnapping warrant and transported to the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office pending further proceedings. He will be scheduled for an extradition hearing for his return to North Carolina.
From BCSO: On August 18, 2026, the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office received information from the Georgia State Patrol regarding a possible kidnapping suspect traveling towards Bulloch County, Ga. from the North Carolina area.
After receiving the tag number associated with the suspect vehicle, deputies utilized the Flock Safety camera system to locate the vehicle. Road Patrol Deputies and Investigators with the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office subsequently conducted a traffic stop on Highway 67 near Josh Deal Road.
All occupants of the vehicle were safely detained while Investigators contacted Detectives with the Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office and the China Grove Police Department in North Carolina. Investigators were advised that the two juvenile females, ages 11 and 15, had been reported kidnapped and that the male driver, Seth Tallmadge (21 years of age) , is the suspect in their investigation.
Tallmadge was arrested on a KIDNAPPING WARRANT from the Yadkin County Sheriff’s office and will be scheduled for an EXTRADITION hearing for his return to North Carolina. Tallmadge was taken into custody and transported to the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office pending further proceedings. The two juvenile females were safely recovered and later reunited with their parents.
Sheriff Brown stated he would like to recognize the quick response and teamwork of the deputies and investigators involved in bringing this incident to a safe conclusion. Sheriff Brown noted that this was the second time within a twenty-four hour period that Corporal Tanner White and his shift were involved in rescuing victims of a kidnapping incident. He also thanked the Georgia State Patrol, Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office, and China Grove Police Department for their assistance and coordination throughout the investigation.
