Chattooga’s star running back Zayden Cook, has committed to play football at Wofford College.
“I have officially committed to Wofford College, and I am very excited to continue my football career. Wofford has a feeling of home but I’m excited for the challenges that being on my own will bring,” Cook said. “I had a great time meeting the head coach and learning about the support the football team offers other sports teams on campus.”
Cook, who has been a standout for the Indians with his record-breaking performances, will join a program led by Chattooga alumnus and former NFL running back Senorise Perry, now Wofford’s running back coach. This unique connection between Cook and Perry brings the Chattooga legacy full circle. With Perry’s mentorship and Cook’s undeniable talent, Wofford gains a powerhouse addition to their roster.
“I’m looking forward to Senorise Perry being on the coaching staff as well,” Cook added.
Cook finished his senior season as Georgia’s leading rusher, amassing 2,939 total yards while averaging 267.2 yards per game and 8.99 yards per carry on 327 attempts. His highlights included a 99-yard long run and an impressive 33 touchdowns.
Wofford College is a private liberal arts college in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
Congratulations to Zayden on this incredible accomplishment and the next chapter of his football journey!
