Urgent: Abandoned Dog Family in Need of Immediate Help in Chattooga County

An urgent plea for help has been issued for a family of abandoned dogs, including a mom, dad, and their eight three-week-old puppies. The dogs are located at Chattooga County Animal Control in Summerville, GA

An urgent plea for help has been issued for a mom and dad dog, along with their eight three-week-old puppies, who were dumped alongside the road in Chattooga County. Pictures of the heartbreaking discovery have been circulated on social media.

Chattooga County Animal Advocate Carlean Cundiff described both parents are very friendly and weight at around 25 lbs each. At just 1.5 years old, the dad has been observed to be great with the mom and their adorable litter. However, the entire family is in poor condition, with all members being covered in fleas. Despite this, the mom and dad have already been vaccinated, wormed, and received Simparica while efforts are underway to rid the puppies of the fleas.

The circumstances surrounding their abandonment are disheartening. Thankfully, a compassionate individual found them and provided a blanket for comfort until Animal Control could intervene.

Based on their physical characteristics, it is speculated that the mom and dad dogs are a Corgi mix, evident from their shorter legs and distinctive ears. They have been affectionately given the names Sassy and Scooter.

The family is in a temporary situation, but this arrangement is only sustainable until Sunday. The current foster is leaving for vacation, leaving the canine family desperate for a safe haven.

The dogs are currently located at Chattooga County Animal Control in Summerville, GA. If you can assist by fostering or adopting this loving family, please email carlean30753@gmail.com. Time is of the essence in securing a new temporary or permanent home for these deserving dogs.
