Summerville: Yard Sale In Dowdy Park Set For August 1-3 As Part Of The Highway 27 Yard Sale

Summerville’s Dowdy Park will be a participating site Thursday -Saturday, August 1-3 for the Highway 27 Yard Sale. This eventis set to bring many travelers and miles of the best deals and bargains to Summerville. The Highway 27Yard Sale began in Northwest Georgia in the late ’90’s as an alternate route for lost tourist from another yard sale event. It now brings in its own tourist and has expanded past the original route.

Summerville Main Street is sponsoring Yard Sale In The Park at Dowdy Park. This lends locals the opportunity to clean out the clutter and turn it into cash by setting up a booth during the Thursday – Saturday event in the park. All vendors participating in the Yard Sale at Dowdy Park should be registered through Summerville City Hall at the cost of $5 per spot per day prior to setting up. Yard Sale spaces will be assigned. Used junk, antiques, household items, collectables, handmade crafts, and food will be an attraction for shoppers. Hours for the Yard Sale in Dowdy Park will be 8:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Locals and guest passing through downtown may also see a few of the downtown businesses taking advantage of this opportunity with sidewalk sales or in store specials. In addition, the Friday Night Live DJ Dance Party with 2 Wolves DJ Service, sponsored by Summerville Main Street and GP Federal Credit Union is scheduled for Friday, August 2 on East Washington Street inside the Open Air Pavilion. DJ Dance Party hours are 7:30 – 9:30 p.m. This event is free to the public. Small Town BBQ will be also be on site.
