The Joy of the Journey: “It’s Time to wake up!”

Faith Column

We live in an exceptionally troublesome time. I stopped watching the news regularly a few years ago, and my life improved. Don’t get me wrong, I still stay informed, but reading the news has proved much better than watching it for me. I can read what I want, and when it becomes overwhelming, disconnect for a moment to ponder and pray about the condition of our world. But let’s face it, this world is a wreck. Things are not getting better. It’s difficult to see how this world can continue much longer with all the evil we see. The church (all Christ’s Followers) must wake up.

We know our God is more powerful than whatever the devil brings our way. We know our God is greater than anything the devil brings against our families. We know that Jesus died on the cross and gave us COMPLETE victory!   According to the Word of God, you and I have been made more than a conqueror through our Savior, Jesus Christ! (Romans 8:37). With that said, we must refuse to give up. If we are going to overcome, we must be determined to dig deeper and hold our ground.  However, we cannot just be defensive when the devil attacks; we must advance the gospel message when we see an opening!  According to the Word of God, God is working everything for our good!   God is at work on our behalf; even while you are waiting, God is still working!

There is victory and a key to revival in our Nation and World. That key is we must continue to pray until real awakening comes; we cannot stop until we see the chains broken that hold people’s hearts captive. According to the Pew Research Center, only 30% of our Nation’s population attends church regularly once a week. We need an awakening of the Holy Spirit! We need an awakening that gets people attending church and truly walking with Christ.  Church attendance alone will not change this world.  People must be redeemed, revived, restored, renewed, and reach others for Jesus! We must not give up.  We must stand against the devil!  Stand with the power of the cross and through the blood of Jesus!

In John 4:35 it tells us, You know the saying, ‘Four months between planting and harvest.’ But I say, wake up and look around. The fields are already ripe for harvest.”  It is time for those who serve Jesus to take a stand. There is great work to do!  The people of God are called to be saints and warriors of the cross of Christ. We cannot afford to lose any more time. God did not call the church to be spiritual social clubs but to be spiritual hospitals. A place for those who are hurting and looking for hope and healing to experience the power of Jesus.  The scripture says it best

Ephesians 5:14-16

“14 for anything that becomes visible is light. Therefore it says,

“Awake, O sleeper,
    and arise from the dead,
and Christ will shine on you.”

15 Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise,16 making the best use of the time, because the days are evil.

I love our county, state, country, and world, but I long to see a true MOVE of the Holy Spirit.  We must cast down the spirit of religion and pray…

Luke 10:2 (NKJV)

2 Then He said to them, “The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.

It’s time to WAKE UP AND REDEEM THE TIME and GO TO WORK FOR JESUS!

In His Love,
