The Summerville Lady Indians 12U All Stars are state bound!

The Summerville Lady Indians 12U All Stars are state bound! These young ladies, coached by Brandon Stewart and Zach Rutledge, put in the work and made their mark, not only in the regular season, but in the district 5 region as well.

The 12U Lady Indians finished 8-0 in the regular season, dominating over their opponents with an average point differential of 43 points per game. Total points scored for the season was 426, with total points allowed averaging at 10 points per game. Their dominance in the regular season gained them their spot in the 2023 GRPA Class B District 5 Tournament held this past weekend at Murray County Recreation Department.

On Friday evening, February 17th, the girls went head to head with Murray County 12U All stars, the District 5 state host. Working well together, overcoming foul trouble and finishing strong led them to a 52-46 victory sending them to finals. The championship game was one to watch as the 12U Lady Indians dominated Gordon County All Stars for the duration of the game resulting in a final score of 57-5.
Coach Stewart’s remarks on this year’s 12U team, “I’m proud of what the girls have done this year considering we have a few that’s never really played before. Bringing home a state title would be a huge accomplishment for this group. I believe we can do it though.”
