Welcome Home Bryson!

“It’s like he was healed overnight.”

On Saturday, Bryson Pollock arrived home after being in Erlanger’s ICU for COVID pneumonia in both lungs.

Bryson is a 16-year-old Chattooga High School student and football player. His mother, Kandia Phillips says the community response and outpouring of prayer for her son was amazing and healing. “It was simply amazing. The encouragement is what motivated my son to get up and keep going,” Phillips said.

While Phillips and her husband are vaccinated, Bryson was not, but according to his mom he will be in two weeks. The doctors told him he needed to wait that long before getting the vaccine.

Bryson still has a long road ahead. “Recovery will be lots of resting his lungs. They said they took a BIG hit. They do see him making 100% recovery,” Phillips said.

Bryson was on what is called high flow oxygen treatment while in ICU. “That was scary because they slowly ween you off. He actually took his self off of it. Told the doctor he could breathe so much better without it.”

“After seeing your son being so sick then sent home with no oxygen is just amazing.”
