Chief Lee and Assistant Chief Wright Retire from Teloga Fire Department

Retirement Announcement:
– Chief Sammy Lee
– Assistant Chief Tony Wright

Tonight the Teloga Fire Department received the pagers of Chief Sammy Lee and Assistant Chief Tony Wright who are retiring from active service with the department.

These men have been serving the community since June of 1987 as two of the founding members of the 100% volunteer department.

Throughout the years their dedication to the department has been seen from its beginning; fundraising for the building, equipment, and apparatus to the thousands of calls they have answered over the last 34 years.

Though Sammy and Tony are retiring as volunteer firefighters, they will always be Chief Lee (emeritus) and Assistant Chief Wright (emeritus) to our station and community. They will also continue to hold their positions on the Teloga Fire Department board.

“We can’t thank them enough for their years of service to the community and the residents of Chattooga County.

We also want to thank their families for the impact on them; the late night calls, dinners cut short, and the ballgames missed. We thank you for supporting them through the years as you lent them to our community in times of need, they couldn’t have done it without you.”

Congratulations on your Retirement
Chief Sammy Lee and Assistant Chief Tony Wright
Their positions will be filled by:
Chief Andy Rowe and Assistant Chief BJ Eleam
