SUMMERVILLE, MAY 1, 2021 – CRC OF CHATTOOGA FOODBANK and its collaboration is preparing reopen an
existing facility in Chattooga County. The CRC of Chattooga Foodbank is asking the community to participate for
our first clean up day on Saturday May 1, 2021 at 50 Eleanor Ave, Summerville, GA 30747. Clean-up will begin at 10
am and is expected to end at 4 pm. Small Town BBQ will be hosting a fundraiser on site, donating proceeds.
Trinity Disposal will be providing the donation of disposal containers. Organizations and ministries with large
groups that would like to participate are appreciated.
In February of 2021, the Community Resource Center of Chattooga Foodbank was donated a building and all
possessions that had belonged to Hope Rebirth Homeless Shelter for the past 9 years to allow for growth,
additional community services, and a better utilization of the facility.
Community Resource Center of Chattooga Foodbank has partnered in collaboration with 2 non-profits; Jonathan’s
House Ministries & Flourish Foster Care Closet & Support, Inc. in an effort to establish a more cohesive support
system for the community that includes the current foodbank efforts, housing for at-risk young women, and foster
care support.
CRC of Chattooga Foodbank has impacted an average of 700 families a month and has been doing so for 6 years
and now countless more will be impacted through this new collaboration
About Our Organization:
At the Community Resource Center of Chattooga, we don’t want to see anyone going to work, school, or bed on an
empty belly. We enjoy the opportunity to not only send food but also hope into the families of our county. We
are a non-profit 501C3 organization and a partner with both Atlanta and Chattanooga Area Food Banks. We are
supported through local donations including several faithful places of worship.
